Dune On LBI, NJ Without Dune Grass To Protect It From Storms
Volunteers below are planting Dune Grass to protect the dunes and preserve Long Beach Island, NJ (LBI's) beaches. They volunteered to replace the dune grass and post new signs for keeping off the dunes to protect them.
It is VERY IMPORTANT for everyone TO KEEP OFF THE LBI DUNES. The dunes are the first line of defense to protect everyone against storms. Walking on the dunes breaks down the dune grass and the dunes - making the sand easier to wash away.
