There are At Least 70 Handicap Ramps On Long Beach Island, NJ to allow the handicapped, elderly, or people who have trouble walking easier access to the Beautiful LBI beaches.

Beach Haven - Berkeley, Engleside, Essex, Jeffries, Kentford,
Merivale, Pelham & Taylor Avenues plus 5th, 12th, Pearl and
Centre Streets
Beach Haven Crest - East 78th, 84th and 88th Streets
Beach Haven Gardens - East 27th, 29th, 30th and 33rd Streets
Beach Haven Inlet / Holgate - Jacqueline, Osborn, Roosevelt,
McKinley, Susan & Washington Ave. plus Tebco Terrace
Also, Washington Avenue has an observation deck with benches
for beautiful views of the ocean.

What Is A Beach Wheel ?
A Beach Wheel is an outdoor PVC chair with very big wheels. It helps people who are disabled, injured, or have a hard time walking - still be able to enjoy the LBI beach by being easily wheeled right onto the beach and down to the water's edge.

The Beach Wheels Program was first introduced to Long Beach Island by Don Myers, the Long Beach Township Beach Patrol Supervisor in 1992.
The Beach Wheels on LBI cost about $1,600 each - and are generously donated by people and organizations to be used Free Of Charge. They are in big demand on LBI, so make your reservations early by asking each town how to reserve a Free LBI Beach Wheel by calling:
